Descendants of Krypton

In early 2018 I headed design of this fun promotional site for upcoming series Krypton. The show tells the story of Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El, and his trials on Superman’s home planet, Krypton. I had the pleasure of working with North Kingdom again on this guide to the houses and guilds of Krypton that centered around a tool for users to create and share their own unique Kryptonian avatar.

01 | Guide

A pared down single-scroll layout took users through top-level information, feeding into easily rotated House pages with deeper character background. A few areas of animation added a nice, tactile feel to modules.

02 | Hero Creator

Fun, comic-book-style interface allowed users to thoroughly customize their avatar’s features and share the final creation with friends on social. I worked with NK’s designers to hone the overall aesthetic – keeping it super playful but with enough realism to not feel quite cartoon silly – and making sure every feature menu had the depth to make each hero really unique.
